(sandboxes, partial deploys, backups) A dashboard or report you built for leadership — what it showed and what decision it drove. CRMs you're genuinely strong in vs. ones you've used but wouldn't own solo. How do you use AI inside a CRM/ops flow today — enrichment, scoring, summarization, routing? Concrete example. A client says "our CRM is a mess." What do you inspect first, and in what order? The most common mistake inexperienced operators make in a CRM. Migration or integration: have you moved data between CRMs or synced external sources? How did you avoid data loss? Mini case: outreach data lives across a cold-email tool, a CRM, an enrichment tool, and Google Sheets with no reliable sync. (a) Your first 7 days. (b) How you document, test, and hand it off so their team runs it without you.

The most impactful automation you've built — what it did and the measurable result. Were you the architect or implementer? Did you design the workflow architecture or build to a spec? Describe one you owned end to end. Workflow design: how do you map a process before building — triggers, branches, error paths? How do you prevent silent failures — monitoring, alerts on failed runs, idempotency, dedupe, rate limits? A real automation failure you caught — failed step, duplicate trigger, broken workflow — and how you caught it. Tools you'd build a production workflow on vs. ones you wouldn't (Zapier / Make / n8n / custom code) and why. Webhooks, APIs, auth, middleware — a concrete example you built. How do you test an automation before it goes live without breaking production or spamming real contacts? Email / outreach platforms you've run (Brevo, Lemlist, Instantly, Smartlead, etc.) and at what volume. Deliverability: how much do you actually own — domain warmup, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, sender reputation? Be specific about what you've done yourself. How do you use AI inside an automation — generation, enrichment, classification, routing? How do you keep outputs accurate and consistent? How do you handle PII / sensitive data in AI-connected workflows? Documentation for a non-technical maintainer — example. An automation you'd refuse to build because it's too fragile or risky, and why. Mini case: a client wants leads auto-enriched, scored, routed to the right rep, and sequenced. (a) Architect it so it doesn't silently break. (b) Document it for a non-technical maintainer.

Software / App Dev — go deep (optional, but it's how we place you)

Most complex technical project you've shipped — and the parts you personally owned. Architect or implementer? Did you design the system architecture or build to a spec? Describe a design decision you owned and its tradeoffs. System / app design: how do you approach architecting a new build — data model, services, state, scaling? Languages / frameworks you're genuinely advanced in vs. used but wouldn't own independently. Strongest and weakest areas (front-end, back-end, infra, mobile). Your sandbox / staging / production setup and how you promote changes. How you handle secrets, env vars, and keys. Testing approach — what you test, automated vs. manual, before shipping. Debugging approach when something breaks and you don't know the cause. A time you broke a live system — what happened and how you recovered. CI/CD, deployment, and observability — what do you actually own here? How do you use AI in your dev flow (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, agents)? Where do you NOT trust it? Mobile / web app experience, including any App Store / Play Store deployment. Working with a messy or inherited codebase — how do you get oriented? Mini case: you inherit a half-built app with no docs and a deadline. (a) First 7 days. (b) How you decide what to test vs. ship and how you communicate risk to a non-technical client.

Web & Design — go deep (optional, but it's how we place you)

The best live site or product you've designed or built — link, and your exact role on it. Do you design, build, or both? What's your stack — Webflow, Framer, WordPress, custom code? A site where you measurably improved conversion or lead flow — what you changed and the numbers. A service business gives you one page to turn visitors into booked calls. What goes above the fold, where does proof go, and what do you cut? Walk through the reasoning on a real page you shipped. Brand or design systems you've built — tokens, component libraries, style guides — and how you keep a site looking consistent after the client's team starts editing it. SEO and performance you actually own yourself — Core Web Vitals, schema, page speed. Be specific. Forms, analytics, and tracking wiring — GA4, attribution, CRM handoff. What have you set up end to end? Where does AI genuinely speed up your site work (copy, layout, code) — and where does it produce generic-looking output? How do you keep AI-assisted work on-brand? Handoff: how do you leave a site so the client's team can run it without you? Mini case: a service business has a pretty site that produces zero leads. (a) Your first 7 days rebuilding it into a lead engine. (b) What you'd measure to prove it worked.

Fractional Ops / Operator — go deep (optional, but it's how we place you)

The operation you've run — company size, scope, and what you personally owned. Operating cadence you've installed — standups, scorecards, weekly reviews. What stuck? An SOP or process doc you wrote that survived after you left. What made it durable? Walking into a business cold: how do you find the bottleneck? Give a real diagnosis you made. A concrete offload you executed — work you took off an owner's plate and made someone else's, permanently. KPIs / dashboards you ran a team on — what you tracked and a decision it drove. Role design and people systems: a time you moved work to the right owner — or concluded someone was in the wrong seat, and what you did about it. Which parts of an operating cadence have you actually put AI into — meeting prep, reporting, follow-ups, QA — and which parts do you deliberately keep human? Concrete example. The systems you run ops on — CRM, project management, docs — and how you keep them the source of truth. Mini case: a 12-person services firm where the owner is the bottleneck — every decision routes through them. Your first 30 days.

AI Engineer (Forward Deployed) — go deep (optional, but it's how we place you)

An AI system you deployed into a real business environment — not a demo. What it did, who used it daily, and what happened to it after launch. Embedded, client-facing work: describe going from discovery with non-technical stakeholders to a shipped solution in their environment — including a requirement you pushed back on, and how. Your LLM stack in production — models/APIs, agents, RAG, function calling, orchestration. What have you actually shipped? How do you measure accuracy and reliability — evals, guardrails, regression checks before and after changes? Making AI work against messy real-world customer data — a case where the data was nothing like the demo. Integrating AI into existing systems — CRM, email, documents, internal tools. A concrete integration you built. An AI feature that failed or hallucinated in production — what happened and what you changed. Sensitive data, PII, and access control in AI systems — what do you actually do? Training a client's team to run the system without you — how do you make yourself unnecessary? Mini case: a lender wants AI to draft underwriting summaries from emailed PDFs. (a) How you scope it. (b) The risks you flag. (c) Your first 2 weeks.

Data / Analytics — go deep (optional, but it's how we place you)

Most of our clients have no warehouse — data lives in a CRM, spreadsheets, and payment tools. Describe reporting you've built in that reality, and the point where you'd introduce a warehouse (and which one). A leadership dashboard you built — what it showed and a decision it drove. Your data-modeling approach — how you decide tables, grain, and relationships. An example schema you designed. Pipelines or syncs you've built — and how you keep them from silently breaking (monitoring, alerts, reconciliation). Data quality: dedupe, validation, reconciliation — your actual process on a messy dataset. CRM / go-to-market data: multi-source attribution you've untangled, funnel or pipeline reporting you've built — and the trap in that data most analysts miss. How do you use AI in analytics — SQL generation, classification, anomaly detection — and how do you verify a number an AI produced before leadership sees it? Mini case: the CRM says $2M in closed revenue, the P&L says $1.6M, and nobody knows why. How do you reconcile it — and instrument it so it can't drift again?

Sales / Business Development — go deep (optional, but it's how we place you)

This seat is commission-only, 1099, remote on Eastern hours. You run the sales cycle end to end: outbound, discovery, proposal, close, and the account after close. The founder stays on solutions architecture and joins when a deal needs the technical picture painted. Commission is a percentage of net project revenue, paid on collected cash; self-sourced deals pay more than engine-sourced. Full terms are in the contractor agreement before you start. No earnings claims here on purpose.

What did you see, and what happened after? How you run a pipeline: stages, exit criteria per stage, stale-deal threshold, and how you forecast. CRMs you've run your own pipeline in. What is your note and hygiene discipline after every call? How you expanded an existing account after close. What triggered the expansion and how you positioned it. Have you recruited, onboarded or coached reps? Scale, what you built, results. Finance, healthcare or service-industry exposure: which, what you sold, and to whom. Have you worked commission-only before? How did you manage ramp and cash flow, and what would you do differently? Mini case: an inbound from a $3M home-services company. The owner says 'our CRM is a mess and leads fall through the cracks.' You have a 30-minute call Thursday. (a) How you prep. (b) Your call structure. (c) What you send after the call, and what you deliberately do not promise.
